How to participate in the 2014 “Paws to Read” Summer Reading Program



Sign Up & Start Reading
Sign-ups start June 14. Go to any Library Location to sign up for the Summer Reading Program. You will receive a reading log, bookmark, and calendar of events.


Win Prizes
Turn in your reading log to win great prizes like a fun toy, food coupons, Slurpee’s from 7-11, or buy one get one free tickets to Island Water Park. Additionally, upon the return of your completed reading log to us, you will be entered into a drawing to win a Kindle Fire HD.** Thanks to the generous donation by EECU- We're giving away a total of twelve Kindle Fires to Kids & Teen!

Dog Days of Summer Storytime

He's the biggest, reddest, friendliest puppy you will ever see, and he's returned this summer to visit a library branch near you. So come meet Clifford the Big Red Dog and hear some of his favorite stories. Bring your camera, your smile, and your preschooler. Pre-registration is required. Recommended for ages 3-6.

Lunch @ the Library

Stop by the participating libraries this summer for FREE meals for children and teenagers (ages 1-18 years), regardless of family income. Youth will be served a nutritious and delicious lunch June 16-August 8. No registration or paperwork is required for the summer Lunch @ the Library program. The Tail Waggin' Tutors!

The Tail Waggin' Tutors have been a part of the Library and the community for a very long time. They have been doing story times throughout the Library system connecting lovable, huggable and furry friends with children of all ages! For specific events at a library near you, click here.




**Kids and Teens must live within the Library’s service area and all reading logs must be submitted by August 5, in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.
